Hi! Nook’ fashionist How are you? Pame here, I’m so happy to greet you all on a new day.

In this article, I’ll talk about the most important, exclusive and glamorous event in the fashion industry. Since 1948 it was considered an “Annual Party ” by the fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert in its first edition and well, it is not a secret that this is my favorite annual  fashion event. I love it!

Join me while I explain in depth what the Met Gala is all about.

The Met Gala, is an inaugural event which marks the annual exhibition of The Costume Institute. It is carried out the first Monday of May every year in New York City. Its purpose is fundraising for The Costume Institute of Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, currently organized by Vogue US director, Anna Wintour, who has been in charge of this magnificent event since 1995.

But what makes it the most expected fashion event of the year?

Invited list

First of all: the invited list that is conformed by celebrities in every field of the industry, like musicians, royals, models, politicians, designers, actors, businessmen, it-girls, among others. Anna Wintour is in charge of making this exclusive list of guests and well, for you to assist to this extravagant event, you not only need an invitation, but you must realice a donation for 30,000 dollars for a chair or 275,000 for each table.

Dress Code

This event is so controversial and spectacular because of the theme which is carried out every year in the exhibition of the Met, where every celebrity and personality has a dress code according to the exhibition theme of the year. In a few words, making a “Theme party”, having the most famous designers of the world creating magnifics outfits for their muses or their favorite celebrities; exposing their creativity, inspiration, and the perception of the theme in an extravagant look.

Undoubtedly the Met Gala is one of the most expected fashion events of the year and it’s best known as the “Super Bowl of fashion”, but it isn’t fashion only, it’s for the great combination between fashion and art, the interpretation, the inspiration, the history behind it all and the detail and construction behind of the costumes used in the red carpet by the celebrities.

Tell me. What’s your favorite Met Gala and why?
